Phildar patterns

Sempre trobo que totes les revistes que hi han de costura o de fer mitja als quioscos son bastant lletges. Tot és com una mica cutre, o molt senzill... no sé, a mi no m'acaben d'agradar. En canvi les de Phildar no tenen mala pinta (però no sé si només estàn en francés... ). Jo tinc la de aquesta temporada i hi han vàries coses que no estàn mal! (i que intento fer amb la màquina de fer mitja perqué les instruccions per fer el jersei amb la màquina també estàn incloses... ).

I always think that the magazines that you found in kiosk around sewing and knitting are not very good. Everything is very simple and not really nice, at least I don't like them. But the ones from Phildar are not bad (not sure if they are only available in French). I have the one fro this season and there are several interesting patterns (that I try in vain to do with the knitting machine, because you also have instructions on how to do them on the machine...)

La meva nova màquina de fer mitja!

Una de les coses que he recuperat per fer mitja és una màquina de fer mitja. No sabia ni que existien! Aquesta és dels anys 70 i té tot el necessari. L'he netejada i la he provada i funciona!!!! A youtube hi han uns video (dels anys 80, tot molt retro) que t'ensenyen a fer servir aquest tipus de màquina. Es pot fer mitja molt ràpid. Em sembla que no pots fer tots els tipus de punt, pero jerseis i jaquetes i mitjons.... uiiuiu em poso nerviosa només de pensar en tot el que es pot fer. A més la marca Phildar té revistes de patrons on ja et diuen quins patrons es poden fer a màquina i com fer-ho! Treu una mica la gràcia de fer mitja manual, pero si tenim em compte que no tinc paciència, aquesta és la unica manera en que puc fer jerseis per adults!.

Here the result of the first try.













One of the things that I have recuperated is a knitting machine. I didn't even know they existed!!! This one if from the 70's and has everything needed. I have cleaned and tried it and it worked. In youtube you can find some videos on how to use those machines. You can knit really quick. I don't think you can do all types of knits, but you can do sweaters, socks... I get nervous if I think of everything that I can do. The brand Phildar has pattern magazines with instructions for knitting machines. It loses a little bit of the charm of knitting, but taking into account I'm not patient, using the machine might be the only way for me to do adult sweaters.

Jersei per bébé recient nascut

Per una amiga que ha tingut una nena, li he fet aquest jersei. És una patro que vaig trobar a internet i el vaig modificar perqué fos talla recient nascut (volia molt que li anés bé quan nasqués) i a més el vaig fer obert (jaqueta) per darrera perqué fos més fàcil de posar.  Les mànigues m'han quedat petites ( 2- 3 cm de més hauria estat millor) i el jersei és molt just de talla, hauré de cambiar una mica el patro perqué no sigui tan petit. Ah i fer linies blanques petites en una jaqueta vol dir cosir moltes puntes de llana ja que cada passada s'ha de canviar el color i començar després a l'altre costat. Però valia la pena perqué m'agrada molt el resultat!

For a friend that just had a baby I made this small sweater. Is a pattern that I found on the internet and that I have modified to make it newborn size ( I wanted that it would fit when the baby was born) and I did it open in the back so that it would be easier for the mother. The sleeves are a little bit too short (2 or 3 cm would have been better) and the sweater is a little bit tight. I will change the pattern to take that into account and to make sure it is not that small. Doing small white lines can be painful, as you have to start on one side and then cut the yarn on the other one and sew them all that the end, but the result was very good!

Moltes coses noves!

Aquestes vacances he aconseguit moltes coses noves per fer mitja! Entre les quals hi han unes instruccions antigues de com fer diferents punts de mitja. Aniré traduint les instruccions dels punts més interestants o aquells que vagi probant.
Those holidays I have gotten a lot of things to knit! Among those, I have some old instructions on how to make different knits (in French). I will translate the most interesting one or the ones that I try!

Kid's tricot - jaqueta Kina

Finalment torno a "postear" per ensenyar-vos el regal que li he fet a la meva neboda pels seus dos anys (a part de un peluche del Mickey que ha tingut molt més éxit que el jersey, cosa esperada).

Li he fet una jaqueta de Kids tricot que es diu Kina. És molt senzilla de fer, es fa amb agulles circulars (tot i que també es pot fer amb agulles rectes) i es fa tot sencer, no s'ha de cosir res. Jo vaig utilitzar una llana de es diu Bamboulene i que era la que recomanaven a Laine et tricot, però a la web de Kids Tricot en recomanen una altre i estic segura que també queda bé. A sota algunes fotos que li vam fer, portava el pijama o sigui que no es veu molt el jersey però més o menys....

Finally I'm posting again to show you the gift that I did for my niece for her birthday (that and a Mickey that caused much more happiness that my jaquet, which I expected)

I did a Kid's tricot jaquet called Kina. It is quite easy to do, I did it with circular needles but you can also do it with straight ones. You do it all at once, you don't have to sew anything afterwards. I used a yarn called Bamboulene, that was the one recommended for that pattern in Laine et tricot, but in the web of Kids Tricot they use another one that I'm sure also looks nice.

Quan les mosques tenen set, els mosquits volen tabaco II

He acabat el gorro que vaig començar la setmana passada. El patró es diu      . Em va costar una mica pillar el patró,  però en realitat es molt fàcil i es fa molt ràpid. La talla mitjana, que és la que vaig fer jo, queda una mica petita (en tot cas per mi, que tampoc és que tingui un cap tan gran). O sigui que recomanaria fer la gran en cas de dubte.

I finished the hat that I started last week. The pattern is called    . I took some time to understand the instructions, but in reality it is very easy and quick to do. The medium size, the one that I did, is a little bit small, at least in my case (and I don't think I have a huge head). I would recommend to do a bigger size in case of doubt.

Blog del Purl Bee - mil projectes ideals!

Buscant patrons al Raverly, he trobat aquest link per aquesta bufanda al blog del purl bee. La hem trobat molt mona i he decidit que val un post. Intentaré trobar la llana a Suissa per fer-la, i ja us diré com va. El punt sembla complicadet, però queda molt bé! Al blog del Purl hi ha mil altres projectes per fer cosint o en mitja.

Looking for patterns at Raverly, I found this link for this cowl on the purl bee blog. I found it soo cute that I decided I was worth a post. I will try to find the right yarn in Switzerland to do it and I'll keep you updated on how it goes! The stitch looks complicated but it looks great! On the Purl Bee blog there are also other sewing and knitting projects, I highly recommend it!

Quan les mosques tenen set, els mosquits volen tabaco

Com que encara no havia equipat a tothom pel fred polar que fa a Suissa, estic fent un altre gorro, seguint un patrò com sempre del  Raverly. M'he oblidat del nom, el posaré amb la foto del gorro acabat!

As I didn't equipped everyone for the cold in Switzerland, I'm now doing another hat, following a Raverly pattern as always. I forgot the pattern name, I'll post it with the foto of the finished hat!



Que no es refredin les idees!

Les meves amigues van venir a Suissa a esquiar i per assegurar-me que no passarien fred, vaig fer un gorro per cada una, de diferents colors i amb el meu logo a un costat. El patró es el very warm hat de Raverly. Algún que altre pom pom ballava una mica, però ho vam poder arreglar! I ara ja estàn llestes pel fred!

My friends came to Switzerland to ski and to make sure that they would not be cold, I did a hat for each one of them, in different colors and with my logo on one side. The pattern is the very warm hat pattern that can be found in Raverly. Some of the pom poms where moving a little bit, but we could arrange that. And now they are ready for the cold!

Very warm men scarf

Abans de Nadal vaig acabar la "very warm men scarf". El punt és díficil de fer al principi, però al final li agafes el "truco" i no és tan complicat.  I queda molt maco, i molt gruixut!

Before Christmas I finished the very warm men scarf. The stitch is a little bit difficult to learn, but at the end you get how to do it and it's not that complicated. And it looks very nice and very thick!

Com fer mitja circular, per mitjons, gorros i altres

"Així que comencem: com fer mitja en circular - mitjons, gorros i altres


Si ja saps fer el punt bàsic, del dret i del reves, la mitja circular no et costarà gaire. Hi han dues opcions: amb agulles de doble punta (que venen en packs de 5) o amb agulles circulars. Jo no he provat mai les agulles circulars, perquè de tota manera al final es necessiten agulles de doble punta (quan les voltes son petites i amb poc punts les agulles circulars no es poden fer servir -- o aix o em van dir a mi i per aixo no les he provat mai!)


Explico primer on podeu aprendre a fer el punt, i desprès us dono mes detalls sobre el que jo crec que es l'avantatge o desavantatge de les agulles circulars. Per fer gorros o mitjons, també necessitareu aprendre a afegir o disminuir punts, però aixo ho explicaré en un altre post! Però si voleu fer "mitts", o un buff pel coll, no ho necessitareu.


Per aprendre a fer servir les agulles circulars podeu anar a www.knittinghelp.com i buscar : circular knitting. Us sortiran vídeos amb totes les possibilitats. Podeu veure llavors clarament com es fa i com dividir els punts. La senyora parla en anglés, però el vídeo es veu prou bé com per entendre'l sense parlar anglés. Però si ho voleu entendre i no coneixeu el vocabulari de fer mitja en anglés, a Viento del Este, Viento del Oeste trobeu totes les abreviacions i el significat de les paraules.


Doncs això, fer mitja circular no és tan diferent de fer mitja "normal", només que els punts es reparteixen en diferent agulles i es tanca la ronda a la primera fila. Al principi tens la sensació que tens agulles per tot arreu, que et ficaràs l'agulla al ull, et punxes i és una mica desesperant... però amb paciència, s aprèn a saber que fer amb tantes agulles.

Molts patrons recomanen utilitzar 4 agulles per repartir els punts, jo en faig servir normalment 3, només en faig servir 4 si hi han tants punts que no m'hi caben en 3. Aixi s’evita tenir una agulla més penjat que amenaça ficar-se a l'ull. Fer servir 3 agulles és el mateix que fer-ne servir 4, nomes que es divideixen els punts de manera diferent.

Una de les coses que a mi em fa costar molt pillar quan vaig començar, és que quan fas mitja circular, fent el mateix punt tota l'estona , et surt punt de jersei. Es a dir que per fer punt de jersei no has de fer una ronda del dret i una del revés, però sempre del dret o del revés i et surt el punt de jersei per dins o per fora. Es increïble (però veritat) que em costés tant de entendre-ho, perquè quan fas una volta et queden els punts perquè facis sempre el mateix punt.

Una altre de les coses que he descobert fa poc, és que es pot fer la mitja circular de dos maneres, fent el punt per fora o fent el punt per dins. Us envio algunes fotos, perquè no se si enteneu el que vull dir.

En realitat es pot fer de les dues maneres, nomes s'ha d'anar amb compte i pensar qui es el costat que ha de quedar per fora i com es el patró. Si feu el punt per dins i el patró esta escrit amb punt per fora, només fa falta fer el punt del dret quan al patró diu del revés i viceversa per aconseguir el mateix resultat (com a mínim es el que vaig fer jo amb un gorro, imagino que funciona amb tot). No he descobert encara si tothom fa la mitja circular per fora o tothom per dins i jo només faig coses rares, però jo he provat de les dues maneres i m'ha funcionat!

Bé, em sembla que aquest és un bon resum de coses i consells a tenir en compte per aprendre a fer mitja circular. Com a mínim és un bon resum de la meva experiència....

Vaig fent....

Amb la bufanda, ara vaig una mica més ràpid! El problema que tinc és que com que és un punt especial, si m'equivoco no sé recuperar els punts. Però de moment no es veuen gaire els errors. Només hi ha una linia que és una mica different (enlloc d'anar en diagonal, m'he equivocat en un punt i els nusos estàn al mateix nivell). Però ho repetiré en intervals iguals, i farà una mica de dibuix!

I keep on working on the scarf, now I'm getting quicker. The problem is that as it is a special stitch, I don't know how to recuperate the stitches when I do a mistake. But for the moment, you cannot see a lot my mistakes :-) . There is only one line where instead of going in diagonal, the knots are straight in line with the ones below (I had to do one more purl stitch before starting to do some knots, and I forgot). But I will do the same "mistake" in regular spaces and it will add a small design to the scarf.

Una altre gorro, és una obsessió!

Una altre gorro, aquest també per regal! Aquest gorro es fa molt molt ràpid, com sempre patró al Raverly. El vaig fer en dos vespres, amb agulles del 9mm i llana molt gruixuda (marca Malou) . Queda una mica molt de ski, amb el pom pom i tal, però a mi m'agrada, i a la persona que l'ha rebut també!! I fer el pom pom era com tornar a estar al parvulari, encara m'en recordava com fer-ho! Ja fa temps que el vaig fer, però com era un regal, no volia penjar-ho fins ara!

This hat is also a gift. I really did it very very quickly, in 2 evenings. I used 9mm dpn needles and a yarn called Malou).  As usual you can find the pattern in Raverly. I like this hat, it looks like a ski hat, with the pom pom, but is really warm and is very cold in here, so we need those kinds of hat. Doing the pom pom I felt like being a kid again, but I'm proud of myself because I remembered how to do poms poms. I did this hat some time ago, but as it was a gift I didn't want to publish until I gave it.

Més regals, aquest una mica més especial

Aquesta vegada he fet un regal a mig començar. És per uns 30 anys  i volia fer alguna cosa especial. He comprat llana Pashmina, que té una mica de cashmere i és molt suau, i faré la bufanda: extra warm men's scarf (patró gratuit - utilizo agulles de 5mm). És un punt pesadet (més que complicat pesadet, agafar tres punts a la vegada no és fàcil, sempre se m'escapen). Però com vull que sigui un regal especial, he decidit invertir temps i esforços. I de moment el resultat que tinc m'agrada molt (i no només a mi, sinó també a la persona a qui va destinada la bufanda!)

This time I gave a present that I just begun! Is for someone that is turning 30 and I wanted to do something special. I bought some Pashmina yarn, that has some cashmere and it's really soft, and I will do the extra warm men's scarf (free pattern - I'm using 5mm needles). It's a little bit hard to do (not really hard, but it takes long as to purl 3 stitches together is not easy, at least for me). But as I want to do something special, I have decided that it is worth to put some time and effort on that! And for the moment I really like the result (and the person that will get the scarf likes it as well!)



Hurricanne Hat II

Un altre hurricanne hat, amb la mateixa llana que el primer però un detall diferent: la papallona està posada en una imperdible i es pot canviar o treure. El gorro es un regal, després que una amiga veies el primer i em demanés que li fes un!
He tingut problemes al final del gorro, em dec haver descomptat en algun moment... però al final el resultat no està mal. Trobareu el patrò a Raverly. Jo ho he fet amb agulles del 4mm, però potser quedaria millor amb llana una mica més gruixuda (els errors i forats es veurien menys :-) )


Another hurricane hat, with the same yarn as the first one but with a different detail: the butterfly can be removed and changed. The hat is a gift, as a friend saw the first one and asked me to do one for her!
I had some problems at the end of the hat, I must missed some stitch or I miscount something... but at the end the result is not bad. You will find the pattern at Raverly. I used 4mm needles, but maybe it will look better with thicker yarn (you would see less the mistakes and the holes :-))

Too much....

Tinc tants projectes i tantes coses que vull fer al cap que no dono a l'abast! Curiosament, a l'hivern em ve més de gust fer mitja que no cosir. I en mitja tinc moltes idees: gorros, mitjons, bufandes... massa idees i no sé per on començar! I de cosir també, sabatilles, acabar el meu projecte per il giocco de la creativita, pijames i altres! Tant de bó tingués més temps per tot aixó!!! Com algunes de les coses que vaig son de regal, no puc ensenyar les fotos encara!

So many projects and things that I want to do that I cannot deal with all of them! In winter, I prefer knitting than not sewing. And I have a lot of knitting to do: hats, socks, scarfs... too much ideas and I don't even know where to begin! And also a lot of sewing to do as well : home slippers, finishing the project for the il giocco de la creativita, pijamas and others! I wish I had more time to do everything!!! As some of the things I do are gifts, I cannot show any pictures yet!

Más vale tarde que nunca...

Finalment he acabat el mitjó que havia començat! M'ha quedat una mica raro, la linea de punts a la punta no m'ha quedat al costat, pero li dona un estil! El segon ja veurem quan el començo! Pero bueno, un mitjó val més que cap!

Finally I finished the sock that I began! It looks a little bit weird, there is a line in the middle of the sock, and not on the side but it gives some style to the sock. We will see when I will begin the other one!  But better a sock than no sock!

Gorro

He acabat el "Hurricane Hat"! Tot i alguns problemes que vaig tenir (punts que s'em van escapar i altres... gràcies a la meva mare ho vaig recuperar :-), el gorro no queda malament. Si te'l mires a la mà, es veuen molts els forats pero posat queda bastant bé. Li vaig afegir una espècie de flor que vaig fer amb una punta negra i estic bastant orgullosa del resultat!

I finished the Hurricane Hat! Despite some problems that I had with some stitches (thanks to my mum I could recuperate that), the hat doesn't look bad! If you look at it carefully, you can see some holes and so, but if you wear it, it looks fine! I added a sort of flower done with a black stripe that I had and I'm quite happy with the result.  I already started a new hat, with thicker yarn, should be quick... 

Huricanne Hat

No ho he pogut evitar i com els mitjons que estic fent no m'apassionen i estava una mica desmotivada, he començat el HuricanneHat (vaig trobar el patró a Raverly). Quan vaig començar em pensava que la llana era massa prima (llana Merino Alpaca, Agulles del 4.5) i que no es veuria la tira que va girant, però si que es veu! 


I couldn't avoid it and as I wasn't very motivated with the socks I was doing, I started the Hurricanne Hat (I found the pattern in Raverly). When I started I thought that the yarn would be too thin for those needles (yarn Merino Alpaca, 4.5 DPN) an that the stitch that goes around the hat would not be seen, but you can see it! 

Mitjons

He començat un nou parell de mitjons, aquesta vegada normals (no tindran els dits separats). La llana no es la més maca, pero es una que vaig comprar abans de fer la comanda per internet i la volia aprofitar. Les fotos son de diferents dies :-)
I have began a new pair of socks, this time normal ones (they will not have the toes separated). The yarn is not the nicest one, but I bought that one before buying more on the internet and as I was looking for a soft one, I didn't have much choice on the colors. I'm using double 2.5mm  pointed needles, which makes the knitting of the socks a little bit longer than the previous ones...
